A neighborhood dignified by its history.

In the Edo period (1603-1868), this area was home to the residences of the Aoyama clan, warriors who served as direct retainers of Shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa. This is said to be the origin of its name. As the traditions of Aoyama extended into recent times, Meiji Jingu shrine, Omotesando, and the ginkgo trees in Gaien-mae joined the fold. These historic landmarks imbue Aoyama with a dignified culture and a lush, vibrant atmosphere.
